Appalachian Therapeutic Riding Center

All our horses are trained in therapeutic riding.

Omar is a handsome Arabian. He loves people and has excellent manners!

Tony is retired from the show ring. He is great with independent riders since he taught lots of kids to ride in his earlier career.

Midnight is our only girl. She enjoys being groomed. Her specialty is showing off her tricks during ground lessons.

Tanner and Vader

Tanner and Vader are best friends. They retired to ATRC from a summer camp where they were much beloved. Tanner's name suits his color. Vader is big and black.

Savvy is a tall, handsome guy. He knows all about teaching people to ride. His red coat is very pretty.

Marley is a rare Icelandic horse. Although he is small he is very strong! He also has a funny personality and a hairdo to match.

Our newest "little" addition, Lancelot, is a miniature horse.  He is great introducing horses and riding to youngsters who may be frightened of larger horses.

Our Facility

Our facility is located on 15 acres of beautiful land in the South Toe Valley.  We have a large indoor arena with classroom, office, therapy room, bathrooms and indoor horse stalls.  There is an outdoor riding ring and run-in shelters in all the pastures.  The hay barn overlooks the beautiful valley.
